To help give you a head start, here is a list, in no particular order of three of the best camera phones on the market today.
Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus
The Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus is one of the best camera phones available on the market at the moment. It is truly a great smartphone with one of the best cameras to boot.
At the back of the Samsung S9, you have two cameras in place. The primary 12 Megapixel sensor has a second 12 Megapixel sensor directly underneath.
The main 12MP sensor boasts a world first feature on the S9 with the addition of a f/1.5 aperture. What this means is that the camera can operate in very low light situations.
The S9 also features Samsung’s new Dual Aperture Technology allowing the camera to move from low light (f/1.5) to bright light (f/2.4) reducing overexposure.
Additionally, the Samsung S9 absorbs 28% more light with 30% less noise than its predecessor the S8 Plus. Samsung has added DRAM to the sensor stack that allows photographs to be made up of 12 frames instead of three.
If you wish to record in slow motion, this can be done at 240 frames per second at 1080p or super slow motion at 960 frames per second at 720p.
All these advanced camera features are included in the user-friendly camera apps automatic mode so that all you have to do is point and click for some great pictures. The Samsung S9 is a great smartphone in every respect.
Huawei P20 Pro
The Huawei P20 Pro is considered one of the best smartphones on the market today. Maybe not quite up there with the Samsung S9 Plus, but never the less a great smartphone in its own right.
The P20 has a triple camera on the back. Together these cameras add up to an incredible 60 Megapixels! On the front you get a 24 Megapixel camera making that a combined total of 92 Megapixels.
However, it's not all about the Megapixels and the P20 compliments those might Megapixels with an excellent bunch of camera features.
The primary 40 Megapixel camera is assisted by a 20 Megapixel black and white sensor to help with the image processing which includes improving dynamic range and decreasing the noise levels.
The third rear-mounted camera includes a 3 x zoom feature with an 8 Megapixel sensor. This lets you zoom into your subject without the need for digital zooming reducing the decrease in image quality when it is used.
The Huawei P20 Pro is well put together smartphone with a great camera setup and it’s no wonder that it is one of the better quality camera phones available today.
iPhone X
The iPhone has been around for quite a while now and is one of the more popular smartphones in the marketplace. With the release of the iPhone, X Apple has included the best camera setup on the smartphone to date, that includes both front and back cameras.
The back-mounted double sensor takes some truly stunning pictures on both low light and bright areas with a lot of detail and rich natural colors.
The two 12 Megapixel sensors both include optical image stabilization and the one sensor offers telephoto abilities. These are very handy features for taking quick pics on the fly.
The camera mounted on the front of the iPhone X features “TrueDepth” for crystal clear selfies which allow for a blurred background without the need for a second sensor in place.
Not quite the best camera phone on the market compared with the Samsung S9 and the Huawei P20, but none the less this is quite easily the best camera technology that Apple has included in the iPhone series to date and is a contender for one of the best camera phones available today.
Consumers are truly spoilt for choice these days and most smartphones have outstanding cameras.
